7th Grade Compacted Math: 

*Monday, 10/20:  pages 1-2 → intro to diamond problems


*Tuesday, 10/21: pages  3-7→ coordinates on a graph


*Wednesday, 10/22: NO MATH (early release)


*Thursday, 10/23: page 12 then pages 8- 10→ coordinate graph & patterns; RETAKE of unit 1 test, if needed


*Friday, 10/24: pages 121, 13-14 → as table group for patterns and guess and check tables



8th Grade Compacted Math: 

*Monday, 10/20:  Unit 1 REVIEW


*Tuesday, 10/21: UNIT 1 TEST


*Wednesday, 10/22: NO MATH (early release)


*Thursday, 10/23: Unit 2 Part 1 pages 1-4 → review of proportions


*Friday, 10/24: pages 5-6 → generic rectangles to multiply

*Monday, 10/13:  pages 5- 7 → factoring basic expressions (opposite of distributive property)


*Tuesday, 10/14: pages 8-10 → factoring with exponents (& how to ease test anxiety and how to study for a test)


*Wednesday, 10/15: Unit 1 Review


*Thursday, 10/16: FIELD STUDY day


*Friday, 10/17: UNIT 1 TEST


NOTE: first unit test will be on Friday, 10/17


8th Grade Compacted Math: 

*Monday, 10/13:   TURN in packet 3; Get Packet Part 4 pages 1-4 → write equation given pt & slope  THEN exit slip on writing equation from pattern, graph, table


*Tuesday, 10/14: exit slip for writing equation from a graph; Part 4 pages 5-7, 10 → write equation given 2 points on line


*Wednesday, 10/15: exit slip for writing equation when given two points; pages 11, 13, 16, 17 (if working diligently, you can stop at end of class and not finish–so pick and choose what you want to work on)


*Thursday, 10/16: FIELD STUDY day


*Friday, 10/17: exit slip on ALL the things from the unit!;  Part 4 pages 18, 20-23  (if working diligently, you can stop at end of class and not finish–so pick and choose what you want to work on)


NOTE: first unit test will be on Tuesday, 10/21

7th Grade Compacted Math: 

*Monday, 10/6:  pages 22 & 25 then exit slip → distributive property then combine like terms


*Tuesday, 10/7: *Turn in packet 3 and get the final packet 4 from unit 1; pages 1 & 2 → operations with absolute value


*Wednesday, 10/8: pages 3 & 4 → evaluate an expression when given a value


*Thursday, 10/9: FIELD STUDY day


*Friday, 10/10: NO SCHOOL


NOTE: first unit test will be on Friday, 10/17


8th Grade Compacted Math: 

*Monday, 10/6:   WS & WORKSHEET → graph equation w/o table


*Tuesday, 10/7: Exit Slip then  notes on pages 20-23 (rewrite # 11 & 12 together on p 22 before graphing)  → rewrite equation into slope-intercept form then graph w/o table


*Wednesday, 10/8: pages 24-27 → write an equation of a line given slope and points; turn in packet 3 when done (today or Monday) & get final packet 4 for unit 1 on Monday, 10/13


*Thursday, 10/9: FIELD STUDY day


*Friday, 10/10: NO SCHOOL

*Monday, 9/29:  pages 16- 17 & 22 → GCF & LCM  (p. 22 is combine like terms) plus then subtracting integers challenge when done


*Tuesday, 9/30: pages 18 & 19 → using area model to multiply


*Wednesday, 10/1: pages  20 & 21 → distributive property


*Thursday, 10/2: pages 23 & 24  (skip pages 22 & 25) → properties


*Friday, 10/3: FIELD STUDY day

*Monday, 9/22: MAPS testing


*Tuesday, 9/23: MAPS testing 


*Wednesday, 9/24: notes on pages 9 & 10 together then students work on pages 11 & 12 → combine like terms


*Friday, 9/26: pages 13-15 → combine like terms


NOTE: first unit test will be on Friday, 10.17


8th Grade Compacted Math: 

  • Unit 1 Part 3 Packet (answers to be added soon)

*Monday, 9/22: MAPS testing 


*Tuesday, 9/23: MAPS testing  


*Wednesday, 9/24: go over first problem together on page 1 then students work on pages 1 & 2 → patterns


*Friday, 9/26: pages 5 - 7 →  y = mx + b (note on page 6, 2nd row 4th column that the x-values are no longer increasing by just 1…how is this different?)


NOTE: first unit test will be on Tuesday, 10/21

7th Grade Compacted Math: 

Monday, Sept. 15: *Packet 2 pages 9 - 11 →  more subtracting of integers  (TURN IN part 2 packet THEN exit slip on addition and subtraction

Tuesday, Sept. 16:  (get NEW part 3 packet) *Part 3 pages 1-4  → multiply and divide integers

Wednesday, Sept. 17: EARLY release → NO math

Friday, Sept. 19: Part 3 pages 5-8 → more multiplication & division of integers (tell students we will do MAPS testing on Monday and Tuesday next week –also Wednesday if many still need to finish up – so bring a book to read if finished early)


8th Grade Compacted Math:  

Monday, Sept. 15: pages 18-20 → determine if point lies on a graph

Tuesday, Sept. 16:  pages 21, 22, 24, 25 (skip 23 for now)→ choosing points to create a table

Wednesday, Sept. 17: EARLY release → NO math

Friday, Sept. 19: turn in packet 2 (you’ll get it back to finish pages 23 & 26 later) & get NEW packet 3 pages 1 & 2 →  (tell students we will do MAPS testing on Monday and Tuesday next week –also Wednesday if many still need to finish up – so bring a book to read if finished early)
